I read your article on coconut oil and was wondering where I could find some recipes for the 160 reasons. Thanks. Dave

    • Good question Dave. You can do a online search for recipes with coconut oil and get tons of info for cooking. CO is such a utility player beyond the kitchen. You imagination is your only limitation. Let me know what you come up with.

  3. Greetings Survival Sherpa,

I saw you would like to add you as a business connection on LinkedIn

My company, In Spokane, manufactures Hot Water Stored Energy Systems which can burn most anything to generate virtually unlimited hot water or for hot water heating.

I thought you might have a real interest the appliance for heating and hot water. Just check it out. I will not pursue a sale – it would sell itself.

I want you to know that I will not spam you; I only wish for you to know about the appliance as a person who could have a real interest.

Todd… Really like your website. I also have been to have Dave Canterbury’s Pathfinder Classes, loved it!!! Anyway, I noticed the belt you were wearing in a few of your pic’s. Doesn’t look like it has a hook or holes – which is what I’m looking for. Where did you get yours? Thanks for any help you can give me and keep up the good work on your website… Thx!

    • Thanks Ron! Glad to have another PF alum among us. I made the ring belt myself. Got the leather from Tandy. Love this thing. It fits all my belt kit and knife. Comes in real handy when wearing my wool hunting shirt. Don’t have to dig for my belt knife underneath.

Thx Todd! I’ll be starting this project right away. Also, will you be attending the PF Intermediate class? Looks like they have one scheduled in Sept 2015… If so, I’ll see you there. Thanks again brother!

    • I haven’t checked their schedule yet. Was hoping to get that one in Spring and Advanced maybe in the fall. Planning on going to the Gathering this summer too. Would love to meet up with someday for sure, brother!!

    Hey Todd-
First I’d like to thank you for all ur efforts in putting up all the posts u do. It’s a great resource i learn some cool stuff every time.
I’d also like to offer my sincerest condolences for ur brother. I wish I had some terrible thing I could say to u that would make u feel better. I just lost my dad, and I now realize that nothing anyone has said to me actually made me feel any better.
All I can offer is that it will get a little better in time. What gets me the most is when I see, hear or read something and I say to myself “o, I’ll have to remember to tell dad about that”. But even that is beginning to get better.
Todd, I wish u a peaceful journey as u work though this emotional roller coaster. Enjoy the great memories u must have and cry when u need to.
    All the best,
    Jim

Hi I am looking for plane tree leaves and sycamore leaves to infuse in hot water to help pain in my right knee, due to osteo arthritis. My friend I. Turkey said this is good. I cannot take anymore prescribed painkillers they don’t work and are making me I’ll. I live in Scotland but local herbalists have never heard of this. Please help. Thank you

      Dear lady,
Try rubbing organic almond oil on sore joints. This helped me heal. Also fresh unpasteurized goat’s milk helps get rid of arthritis except inherited genetic form of arthritis. I got rid of my 81year old father’s arthritis in 6 months and he had it for 30 years.
Also dried vervain or wild prairie verbena ground to a powder and mixed in a fat carrier makes a good liniment for sore joints or muscles. Vervain is available in Europe and British isles, verbena in Texas. They are related and have the same medicinal effects.
Besides being a research biologist and dietitian, I am studying herbalism.
The trees you mention are related to willows. They all have salicin in them which helps with pain. It’s where aspirin came from without the side effects.

    Hi,
My husband and I have been trying to be self-sufficient for 23+ years. We try to take a class and learn something new every year. I just tried to leave a message and it got erased, I think.
Is your website still active ? I saw that you suggested learning something new in 2014. Its now 2016.
We live in Texas with chickens, ducks dairy goats and horses .and garden and grow trees as much as possible.
    Thanks, Katy Behr F.

        Dear Todd,
My goodness, I am so pleasantly surprised to find an answer so soon. My husband has a Facebook account, but I don’t. Total lack of privacy there.
        However, I read the posts.
Found your website couple of months ago while doing research on the tulip tree. Just last night decided to see what other stuff you had on there.
Wish we could take a class from you. We live in central Texas in the “Texas hill country ”
where much of the soil is calcareous. Have to work harder to raise acid loving trees around here.
I’m guessing you may live in or near Georgia. Or do you live in some other country ? We have considered relocating, but are very familiar with the area we are in now .
        Blessings, Katy

Your WordPress thing is killing me Brother. After about 30 min of thrashing I don’t remember the sequence of everything but I tried to vote for your prepper site (believe that failed) but was taken to some WordPress junk (not survivalsherpa.wordpress.com). Couldn’t confirm signup after 2 attempts so I’m not sure if I’m signed up or not.

    • Sorry to hear you had a bad experience, John. When you say, “signup”, are just referring to voting on the Top Prepper Site from the button on the left side of my page?

I don’t have, or have ever had any ads, on my site. So I’m not sure how you ended up on a junk page if you clicked a link here. Again, sorry to hear that. Hope it hasn’t discouraged you from hanging out here from time to time. Thanks for the heads up.

    Hi Todd!
I asked my fb group about a suvivalist that could possibly teach some skills to our homeschool (ages 4-11) group and your name came up several times.
I’m wondering if you could help me find someone who might be able to help us start a monthly class to build survival skill knowledge. We are located in Gwinnett. Hope to hear from you!

    • Hi Kat,
Good to hear from you and thank you for reaching out to me. We should probably talk by phone. Send me an email to survivalsherpa at gmail dot com please and we can discuss what your group is looking for and kick around some ideas. I’ll send you a phone number where I can be reached. Looking forward to talking to you.

I would like to submit an article I have written that concerns prepper groups. It briefly touches on a bad experience I had with a group calling itself a prepper group and how this experience changed my outlook to focus on other existing groups that didn’t call themselves that but still fulfill that roll in my life. I assure it doesn’t name any group specifically and doesn’t speak poorly of or praise any group in particular.

    Would you be interested?
